You will need:
Card
Star shape outline
Pencil
Scissors
Lollypop stick or paper straw
Strips of coloured crepe paper (to create streamers coming out of your star)
Glue
Paints
Gems and star stickers
Ideas:
- Draw 2 star shaped outlines onto your card. You could print out a star shape to draw around or draw around something that is star shaped.
- Carefully cut out the stars with scissors. (You may need a grown-up to help or do this for you)
- Use paints to add a splash of colour to your stars. Mix different colours together. Pearlescent and metalic paints will add that extra bit of shine to your stars. If you are using normal paint you could mix some glitter into the paint to create sparkle. Alternatively, once the paint has dried you could cover with glue and a layer of glitter.
- Once your stars have dried. Turn one star over so that the back is facing you. Cover the back with glue and place your lolly pop stick or paper straw about an inch away from the bottom. This will be your wand handle. Also add your strips of crepe paper so that they too will come out of the bottom of your straw.
- You need to add more glue to the outer side of your wand handle and crepe paper. Stick the other star on top, front side facing outwards. Think of it as though you are creating a star sandwich and the handle and streamers are the over spilling filling and the glue is the butter!
- Once the glue has dried decorate your wand with stars and gems to create some extra sparkle.
